I’m Essie!
Hello there, I’m Essie. I’m a blogger and a true ‘food aficionado’.
I’m terrible at cooking but refuse to give it up because I love exploring new trending recipes and rare fermentation techniques. I’m also one of those people who never really get to the point where workout becomes enjoyable, but I try…I really do.
For as long as I can remember my New Year’s resolution has been to pursue a healthier lifestyle and maybe loose a few pounds. Sounds familiar?
My blog content covers a range of subjects I’m passionate about; not just (failing) exercise schemes and personal health, but also travel, lifestyle and so much more. Whether I am sharing a workout program, a recipe or a personal experience from one of my trips, I hope I can inspire every single one of my readers to make a positive change.
I live in the outskirts of Oslo in Norway with my 5-year-old corgi Eddie.
There’s so much going on in my life, and now I feel is the right time for me to publish my own private blog – for you to learn from, laugh at and hopefully get inspired by.
Follow me in my everyday life

Bone broth and winter vibes
During winter season, I’m really not my usual peppy self – I get tired and demotivated because it’s dark outside from early in the afternoon. But this year, I’ve decided to do something about it. I will not let it get to me. Want to know my secret? Tap into the story of winter vibes and steaming hot beef bone broth

Trick-or-Treat!
Do you love Halloween just as much as I do? I’m having a party tonight, and my niece and nephew is helping me out. We are preparing delicious pumpkin soups and snacks – tab into my blog to be inspired on soups, pumpkins and halloween.

Hectic, healthy and on the go!
In my research for new article on protein trends 2021, I found an article that meticulously described the essence of my hectic life. I was spot on – tab into my blog post and check out if you can also recognize yourself in this!

Returning to my routines of everyday life
Feels good to return to my everyday life and normal routines. I find myself at a café, writing and enjoying one of my guilty pleasures, a delicious, tasty burger, juicy and full of flavor.

Summertime – and living is easy...
I’m enjoying my summer holiday with my friends Josie and Freddie, and I've invited them on a picnic. I’ve become somewhat of a food savant, in my search for luxury food ingredients for our picnic and only the best is good enough!

Welcome to my summer garden
You know those people, who eat organic and appear to be in complete balance with nature! You might be surprised, as I’ve become somewhat of a vegetal specialist. I found that hybrid foods are an ideal combi for me, mixing meat and plant-based proteins.

What’s good for me, is good for my dog!
To be honest I totally spoil my barking, drooling furry friend – Eddie. I want to make sure I feed him for him to stay fit and healthy, so my obsession with reading labels on everything I buy for myself also applies to what I buy for Eddie.

It's what's on the inside that counts
I’ve become increasingly aware of what I eat and drink, and to be honest increasingly worried about what is good for me and what is not. During Easter I had plenty of time making new experiments in my kitchen.

Slow-simmering in just a few minutes…
March took a turn I didn’t see coming. I quickly decided to self-quarantine in my apartment with Eddie as my only company.

No sweetheart, but lots of (healthy) sweets
Valentine’s Day is up and for me being single, it’s usually not the most enjoyable time of year. But then again maybe I could simply “shower the people I love with love".

Were the celebrations in December hard on you too?
I guess I am not the only one who felt an urge to start off 2020 by visiting my local fitness center more frequently. Are you also on a New Year’s quest to pursue a healthier lifestyle, then join my monthly blog and follow my struggles and wins.
