Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Oh, the spirit of Christmas! I just love everything about it – the decorations, the candle lights and the delightful Christmas tree. I am completely and utterly obsessed with Christmas.

Celebrating Christmas includes spending time with my loved ones. For the Christmas gathering I’ve made sweet snacks for the kids and the most beautiful gingerbread house. Spending way too many hours decorating it, has put me in a horrible dilemma – I simply cannot allow anyone to eat my pretty Christmas cottage! Must create something else.

December reminds us that the year is coming to an end and usually that fosters a little self-reflection. So, please allow me to invite you on a trip down memory lane. One thing’s for certain, I’ve learned a lot this past year about what is good for my body and good for my mind

In January…

I started out in the gym, totally dedicated to pursuing a more active and healthier lifestyle. Enjoyed my first protein shake and kick-started my craving for chewy nutrition bars. Had never stumbled across the word COLLAGEN before and didn’t know why it was supposed to be good for me. Now I know that it can help relief the stiffness in my joints, increase the density of my bones and recover my muscles after exercise – maybe even improve the hydration of my skin. Collagen is now an integrated part of my daily diet and I want it to stay that way. I’ve also learned that bone broths have a naturally high level of collagen, and I can actually make these in my own kitchen or buy them as RTD bone broths – as I normally do. These delicious broths are not only good for me, they are also good for my furry buddy Eddie. During this year’s lockdowns we’ve been taking some long walks. And it’s just comforting to know that his joints and muscles are also benefitting from the high level of collagen. So, my new rationale must be: What’s good for me is also good for my pet.

Lately, I’ve grown addicted to the low sugar, high in protein desserts offered at my local gym. They help overcome any yearning for something sweet and they are so creamy and soft that they literally melt in your mouth.

Guess you could say that I’ve learned how to take better care of myself and I’ve learned the value of healthy eating through a satisfying and protein-rich diet.

2020 is coming to an end and so is this blog of mine. Take care and thanks for tuning in.

I can’t wait to see where the next year brings us! All the best to all of you in 2021.
