What’s good for me, is good for my dog!

To be honest, I totally spoil my barking, drooling furry friend – Eddie. He follows me everywhere I go, and nothing is too good for my sweet and dependable companion. He probably gets too much attention, too much exercise, too many expensive treats and too many ridiculous toys, but what can I say – I love that little short-legged creature.

With all the exercise he gets, I want to make sure I feed him well in order for him to stay fit and healthy. Lately I’ve started buying these small silver sachets with chicken and beef bone broth for dogs. They are packed with collagen and other macronutrients that are supposed to be good for his skin, fur, digestion, bones and joints. Whatever effect it may have, he absolutely loves the taste of it. He’s usually pretty picky and doesn’t just eat what I put in his bowl. But when I pour a little bone broth on top of his kibbles, he jumps right into it and gobbles it down in just a few secs.

My obsession with reading labels on everything I buy for myself, also applies to what I buy for Eddie. There are so many dubious pet food products for sale that are stuffed with ingredients I cannot even pronounce or recognize. And many are filled with rice and all sorts of grain. I know a dog is an omnivore, but I would like for Eddie to get his proteins from meat and meat by-products, so I usually go for more premium-like products made from natural raw materials. My favorites are some of the new niche products made from human grade ingredients. I might be wrong, but I just feel good about feeding my Eddie with high quality food and snacks made from ingredients intended for humans. People who are not into pets, probably think I’m crazy, but I do believe that what’s good for me, is also good for my dog.
